Get Connected to The Avenue Church through the LIFE Group Ministry

Do you feel disconnected, like you're missing out on some of the deep, meaningful relationships that you sense you're supposed to have?

Maybe you're married and you and your spouse feel like you're raising your family alone -without any sense of community. You might have even come to The Avenue Church hoping to have those needs met, and it hasn't happened. You're starting to feel lost in the crowd. You come weekend after weekend, but never seem to build relationships that stick.

So you're right back where you began - unconnected.

The reason you're feeling so disconnected is because God didn't create you to be disconnected. He wired you with a burning passion to know others and to be known by them. You weren't made to wear that heavy mask on your face 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You were formed for God's family, a place where you can be authentic.

And we've got great news! God designed a remedy for our chronic disconnectedness - the church. By its very nature, the church is designed to be a place where you feel 'safe' to open up your life to others.

But that doesn't mean you'll instantly be connected by simply sitting in a weekend service.  That is why at The Avenue Church we have LIFE Groups.

What is a LIFE Group?

A LIFE Group is a smaller group of people within our church who meet regularly to encourage and support one another.  LIFE Groups are a place to do life together.  The Bible calls the church "the body of Christ" not a crowd of strangers.  It is great to be a part of the big picture when we meet on Sunday mornings, but God's plan for us is to form real relationships through which Christ can be expressed in our streets and neighborhoods. 

Jesus, through the community of a small group, modeled how we do life together.  He connected with the disciples through life experience, further discovery through teaching, and action as they served the needs of others.  Therefore, here at The Avenue Church we desire every follower of Christ to be connected in some way to a LIFE Group.

Why should I join a LIFE Group?

Like the Cheers theme song says, you want to be where everybody knows your name.  In a church like The Avenue, LIFE Groups fulfill that longing to be connected.  A group is one place where you will truly have a sense of belonging; it's a place to have fun, to feel love and express love, to know you are cared for, and a place where you can deepen your faith and walk with God.
